Exercising Confrontation
Instructions: Read it aloud to yourself and to a partner. Look at their facial expressions as you emphasize first "You". Then, the second time around, emphasize the second word of each line, then the third time the third word, and so on.
You feel close to me because...
You feel free around me.
You like me because...
You like the way I make you feel.
You are attached because...
You can't let go of the comfort.
You love me because...
You love the person that you are when you're with me.
Results: Even though you replace You with I, we get nothing.
Even though you replace Me with You, we get nothing.
