Requiem for Equality

Eyes glossed over, camaraderie

With Ordnance that shrunk Time, remnant stretch

To the Era – a paleness revered to be,

Cast off the other shadows, for clouds to catch

And paste them to the flesh. Mounds of the earth

and stoned doors as tags, declare what release

Of the chain, the shortened dividing girth

For the leveled stairs, for past appease.

Yet still thriving, buried underground

Worming through our eyes, to favor hues

Of the Fingerprints, alive, surround

In detailed parts. The inner man, adieu!

Set foundation, change the biased sight

To let all mankind stand on truthful light.
